All of your exes — a scary journey

Today I finished the proofing an editing of a book I’ve been writing called “All of your exes” or “Alla dina ex” in Swedish.

While most of my peers are off writing excellent books on technology and AI, I have been diving in to a more low-tech exploration of human connection, loss and retrospection. Not a single word was written by AI, and not a single pen stroke was made with AI-software.

The story is quite an unusual one. I wrote it back in 2020, and released it as a short story called “Five Exes” on Kindle.

Now, 3 years later, I’ve developed both as a writer, storyteller and as a human.

The story follows Ben, Rick, Sarah, Michael and David. Five people who share an ex, which means they share something very intimate — the deep and life changing love for another human.

Through their connection, they bond and divulge secrets, pains and pleasures with each other trying to piece together what they lost — A girl called Danielle Andrews.

This is actually the first thing I’ve ever written that has made me cry deeply, and the catalyst for me to work harder on the relationships in my own life.

I’ve summoned up the courage to send it to a few publishers with my hand-drawn illustrations (pictured above and below this text)

I have low hopes that any publisher will want to sponsor this very odd and complicated love story, so if nothing pans out, it will be self published. This story needs to be told.

I look forward to seeing where this journey takes me. I am very sure that this will be a very catchy Hallmark movie one day ;).
